Fondation

Our Vision

The Marvelle Foundation was started August 5, 2020 in honor of Kehinde Samuel Oyewo, the brother of our vice president, Michael Olaniyi Oye Oyewo, who passed on due to complications from hepatitis virus.

This occurred coming from the backdrop of inaccessibility to health care and diagnoses in Nigeria. His diagnosis came too late when no one could help. This was what gave birth to the idea of helping the less privileged in our society.

There are many more Samuel's here and there in our communities who have no access to good health care. Since the health care structure here in Nigeria is almost 80 percent out-of-pocket catered for, there was no health insurances in place.

This vision was shared with our president, Julie Craig, who also has the call of God upon her life to reach out to the world by meeting the needs of the less fortunate across the world. She embraced the vision and it became the passion for both of them. She has since seen this as a calling from God and she is running with the vision to build a standard clinic in Nigeria.

Reaching Out to the World

The first volunteer to serve on the board is Dr. Godwin Osawaro Osaigbovo, a neurologist of repute from the University of Jos. He graciously agreed to serve on the board of the foundation, bringing his wealth of experience to bear.

The other director, Barbara Pippenger, shares a vision to reach the less privileged. An accountant, she has been a great volunteer in her local church.

All the directors saw this vision as a call from God and they are willing to reach out to as many as possible across the world. Last Christmas, donations of dresses were made through the foundation to the children of the Kuchingoro village in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Nigeria, inspired by a book written by Raejean Kanter and illustrated by Rick Eshbaugh titled A WISH FOR A CHRISMAS DRESS. The foundation adopted that as a part of a signature project, too.

The president of the foundation has a broad vision and call of God upon her to do good and all members are committed to service above self, hence the building of a clinic and with a special focus on hepatitis screening, vaccination and treatment, and other diseases. Most of the board members are a member of the Rotary Club.
